Francine Desjardins is an experimental mixed-media artist who was born in Montreal. She now spends half of her time on the Sunshine Coast and half in Vancouver BC.
She studied art at the Cegep du Vieux-Montreal, attended the Instituto de Bella Artes in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and The Emily Carr College of Art & Design in Vancouver, BC and has participated in many art workshops.
Desjardins’ work is rooted in her use of shape, texture and colour with an awareness of the impact of negative spaces, and the push and pull of lights and darks.
Her art is found in private collections in British Columbia, Quebec, and Ontario, Canada as well as in Costa Rica, Mexico and United States.
Francine Desjardins est une artiste expérimentale en techniques mixtes née à Montréal. Elle partage à présent son temps entre la Sunshine Coast et Vancouver en Colombie Britannique.
Francine a étudié l’art au Cegep du Vieux-Montréal, a suivi les cours de l’Instituto de Bella Artes à San Miguel de Allende, Mexique et à Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver.
Elle a également participé à de nombreux ateliers d’art.
Le travail de Desjardins est ancré dans son usage des formes, des textures et des couleurs, jouant sur l’impact des espaces négatifs et le jeu de l’attraction et de la répulsion des ombres et de la lumière.
